Following on from the successful Oxford Health Cares Appeal earlier in the year, we are launching the Oxford Health Cares Winter Appeal this month.

The appeal will support NHS staff across Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust through the winter months with care packs and wellbeing projects.  We are very thankful to the public who have already supported the NHS this year, and consequently we have funds available for this appeal thanks to NHS Charities Together.

But we know local people like to support their local NHS too!

Care packs will be going out each month from November to February and we hope to bring a smile to the faces of our teams each month with new treats or wellbeing support.  It might involve something to keep them warm while visiting patients on the cold winter days, a hot drink or snack to keep them going on a long shift or a skincare product to put on their hands or face after wearing PPE all day.

How you can help

If you would like to support the packs by donating or creating items then we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch via [email protected] or through our social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. We have also created an Amazon wishlist to give you an idea of the types of things we’d like to include in our care boxes. Local businesses need help too during these times, so if you are in a position to be able to purchase locally please do.

In addition to the care packs, we are working with teams across the Trust to identify wellbeing projects that will support them in the long term. This might be providing time for mindfulness, yoga or tai chi or something more practical like a toaster or kettle for their staff spaces. Each team has different needs and we hope to be able to bring a bit of joy into their working day.

We will keep you up to date on all our plans and projects via the Oxford Health Cares Winter Blog.
