Care Packs at Christmas!

When we started Oxford Health Cares in March 2020, we didn't realise that we would still be going at Christmas but we are all very proud to still be here supporting staff across the Trust thanks to kind donations from NHS Charities Together, local community groups, individuals and organisations.

To help make our Christmas packs really special - sent out to over 320 teams across the Trust - our small team of staff and volunteers came together with ideas and donations from supporters.  Not only were there the regular treats of chocolate, sweets, hot drink sachets and savoury nibbles (boosted by amazing donations from Waitrose in Abingdon and the local communities of Binfield Heath) but we also added mince pies for a festive feel.  Each box also held one of our newly created Oxford Health Charity 2021 calendars (created with pictures from our Thriving with Nature competition) and a Christmas card from one of two local primary schools (Windmill Primary School in Headington and Dry Sandford Primary, near Abingdon).  We were also able include special treats from Boden - who had sent us some beautiful PJs through HelpForce - scarves from our local Crafters for COVID group and ice scrapers from the charity team.

Jo Malone made an amazing donation of unisex cologne in the Autumn and we took the opportunity to spread these beautiful gifts through a prize draw this Christmas too.  We packaged the colognes up and sent these out with the care packs, wherever possible, so that teams could really feel the love.

It may not be the Christmas that anyone wanted but we are so thankful to everyone who has supported our Oxford Health Cares appeal so far and look forward to the New Year bringing new beginnings for us all.
