The Oxfordshire Stroke Rehabilitation Unit (OSRU) based at Abingdon Hospital are working with our charity to help fundraise to buy some new arm rehabilitation equipment. This equipment will enhance the service and enable stroke survivors to use their affected arms more independently and practise their exercises at higher intensity. Find out more about the appeal www.justgiving.com/campaign/OSRU2023

A series of different fundraising activities are planned over the next few months, including gathering a team for the NHS75 Park Run in July. The patients were also super keen to be involved.

The therapy team set a challenge for stroke survivors at OSRU to collectively pedal 75 miles over 5 days, and all who wanted to take part were supported to do so using a range of exercise equipment.  In just a couple of days they smashed that target and set themselves a new one!

The final total was 180 miles cycled in 7 days, including miles contributed from home by patients recently discharged, pictured below! Fundraising total to date stands at over £1100, and the OSRU teams are excited for their next challenge.

Huge congratulations to all involved and we're off to a fantastic start!
