Oxford Health Charity has lent it's support to the Adult City Learning Disability Team in Oxford by providing a variety of sensory items for patients to trial.

Beck Taylor, Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist said "We work with adults with a learning disability and complex needs. Sometimes the people we work with struggle to integrate sensory information during everyday activities, making life challenging at times.

The use of sensory strategies and sensory equipment can make a huge difference in making these challenges easier to overcome. Sensory items are very expensive and a lot of the families we work with are unable to buy to trial items. Having a selection of sensory items we can use in our assessment process means we can trial specific items to see if they would be beneficial before recommending which items families can buy."

As Beck says a big thank you to our supporters who enable us to deliver projects such as these, making a difference throughout Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust
