Abingdon Marathon 2024

The Abingdon Marathon is taking place on 20 October 2024 and there are two ways you can get involved to support the Oxford Health Charity appeal for Abingdon Community Hospital.

Firstly, for all those runners, you can now register for the marathon and get set with a fundraising page to support the Oxford Health Charity appeal closest to your heart.

The event registration information can be found at Enter the race — The Abingdon Marathon.  Once you have registered, contact us on [email protected] and we can help you set up your fundraising page, send you a runner's top, water bottle and anything else that will help you achieve your fundraising goal.

Secondly, if running isn't for you but you still want to get involved, the marathon team offer a unique opportunity to all their volunteers at the event.  Each volunteer is able to nominate a charity to be included in the overall donations made, and with the marathon usually donating around £18,000 to local charities each year this is a great way to raise awareness and support for Oxford Health Charity.

To register as a volunteer for the event, visit Volunteer — The Abingdon Marathon and you will be given the chance to choose Oxford Health Charity - Abingdon Community Hospital Fund when you complete your registration.  Again, let us know if you decide to get involved in this way and we will send you a t-shirt to wear on the day.

The marathon may not run past the hospital in Abingdon but it can certainly have an impact on it, and other Oxford Health services, this year.
