Oxford Health Arts Partnership (OHAP), a partnership between Artscape and Creating with Care, had a successful first year of collaboration in 2021 and now sits firmly under the umbrella of Oxford Health Charity. This has been a significant development which has enabled a higher level of strategic overview, partnership work and outcomes.

We have continued to work in the difficult landscape of the pandemic, but we have found new and innovative ways to deliver creative practice alongside great care, including virtual arts workshops, outdoor concerts and performances. This year we have also been able to provide face to face arts sessions with professional artists and musicians for patients as well as creating and replenishing art carts with individual activities for each of our Community Hospital wards in Oxfordshire.

Throughout 2021, we have worked with Oxford Health Charity on their virtual wellbeing sessions for staff, delivered 10 minute staff disco sessions as well as launching a staff art group, in total we held 34 virtual staff workshops, including art, dance, origami, and pottery to 251 members of staff.

Oxford Health Arts Partnership's award winning Creating with Care project was the runner up in the Environment of Care Category at the National Patient Experience Award Network and was presented with the Community Hospital Best Practice Award 2020 and original artwork by Roy Lilley at a celebratory garden party in July 2021.

OHAP has continued to improve hospital environments across the trust and was delighted to meet Sir Steve Redgrave at the opening of Saffron House in High Wycombe. Most of the artwork in Saffron House was made by service users from High Wycombe. Article 12, a youth forum group in Buckinghamshire who help design and improve our services, helped transform the building making it a better place to work and recover.
