Two of our fantastic physiotherapy technical instructors, Martin Butler and Sarah Strawson were excited to show us the shiny new treadmill they fundraised for at The Fulbrook Centre in Oxford.

“Exercise is key to recovery in mental health. Which is why when our trusty treadmill broke at Fulbrook we decided it needed to be replaced without question. Running into funding barriers, we took it upon ourselves to raise the amount to purchase a new treadmill", Sarah explained.

The dedicated duo put the wheels in motion and raised funds in December 2019 by cycling 200 miles on a static bike; the distance from Oxford to their home town of Bournemouth and back.

"We're delighted the new treadmill has arrived and is encouraging our patients to get moving. Exercise can and is a known factor to benefit many mental health disorders, and can improve the lives of those we care for" Martin added.
