Great Estates Walk for ROSY A wonderful team of Children’s Community Nurses and other Oxford Health staff will be walking 26 miles on the 26th of April to complete the Great Estates Walk, raising funds for our ROSY (Respite for Oxfordshire’s Sick Youngsters) Appeal. Over the last few years, the team has raised £2,392, and this year they aim to make it their biggest yet! ROSY is a fully charity-funded service providing additional care to children with chronic, life-limiting, and terminal illnesses in their own homes in Oxfordshire. The Community Children’s Nursing team, part of the group of nurses and healthcare assistants who provide ROSY respite care, are taking time out of their weekend to walk for this vital charity appeal. One of the team members explains why: “Working as a children’s respite nurse for ROSY enables staff to give compassionate, holistic, child- and family-focused care. This type of care is crucial for children and their families, allowing healthcare professionals to walk alongside them in their journey. It’s an absolute privilege to be invited to care for children and families in this way in their own homes.” Post-event update: This fantastic team of ROSY supporters have so far raised over £1750 through taking on this epic walking challenge!
