Green spaces make such a huge difference to our patients, their families and carers and staff.  They provide a place to rest and reflect, they add colour, scents and noise to the day and they allow nature to enter into our everyday tasks.

Green spaces within a hospital site bring the added benefit of helping recovery from both physical and mental illness.

So our Green Spaces appeal and the work that our staff, volunteers and community groups do to revitalise and cherish spaces across the Trust is vital.  

One community group who have been long time supporters of our gardens at the Warneford site in Headington, Oxford are the Good Gym Oxford team of runners.  They get together regularly to run to different locations and undertake an outdoor good deed - anything from helping clear rubbish to gardening.  They first visited us back in 2018 and have been supporting different projects across the site since.  COVID restrictions have obviously had a big impact on group exercise but we were so happy to welcome them back as restrictions eased last Autumn and then again, last weekend we were lucky enough to be the recipients of that good deed again.
