If you enjoy crafting, knitting or crocheting, we need your help to decorate Oxford Health’s Community Hospital gardens to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee on June 5, 2022.

What are we looking for?

We'd warmly welcome donations to help us decorate our community hospital gardens. From red, white and blue bunting, crowns to corgis - we'd love to receive any of your jubilee themed creations to mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The pieces will be used to decorate the gardens at Oxford Health’s community hospitals, as a temporary display for the summer. Community hospitals in are Abingdon, Bicester, Oxford City, Didcot, Wallingford, Wantage and Witney. Find your local site here.

Who can help?

We welcome donations from across our local communities - from schools to scout groups, work colleagues to craft groups please get involved!

Where can I deliver my decorations?

Donations can be posted to Angela Conlan, Witney Community Hospital, Welch Way, Witney, OX28 6JJ or given in at any of the community hospital reception desks. Please follow all COVID-19 guidelines when visiting hospital sites, including wearing a face mask (unless exempt).

Oxford Health Arts Partnership, support by Oxford Health Charity, are leading on the celebrations – hoping to bring joy amongst festivities to celebrate the weekend at Community Hospitals.

Oxford Health Arts Partnership activities support recovery, wellbeing and health for patients and staff at the trust. The innovative arts programme, Creating with Care, is part of the partnership – running arts programmes at Oxford Health Community hospitals. With the support of artists and the Oxford Health Charity paintings, murals, mosaics, musical and poetry have all become a feature of the Trust’s hospital life – allowing patients, many of whom have endured and complex conditions, to get involved and escape through art therapy.

Arts (in Health) Co-ordinator and Creating with Care Lead Angela Conlan said “We are asking for support from you, in our local communities, as part of our Jubilee celebrations in our community hospitals – please get involved, we would be delighted to receive your creations to add a bright sprinkle of colour to our gardens for patients, visitors and staff.

“Our community hospital gardens are a safe, calm and quite place for patients, visitors and staff – the small creations will bring a new visual to the gardens for summer for patients, visitors and staff to enjoy in the sunshine whilst marking The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.”
