Making Christmas special for those who have to spend it in hospital

For at least the last 7 years, hundreds of gifts have been delivered to people staying in hospital at Christmas with Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Patients across 33 inpatient wards (in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire and Bath and North-East Somerset) have received a gift thanks to funds raised for Oxford Health Charity – as well as a selection of seasonal treats including mince pies and chocolates as patients, visiting family and friends, and staff celebrate over the holiday period.

Julie Pink, Head of Charity and Involvement at Oxford Health, said: “It might seem a little early to be thinking of Christmas in October, but our planning gets started in earnest now as we look at the funds needed to make sure we can bring smiles to the wards again this Christmas."

It wouldn't be possible for us to support the 33 wards across the Trust without the kind donations we receive throughout the year and we would like to thank everyone who has supported us to support patients this year.  To donate to your local Oxford Health services this Christmas support our Oxon and West Mental Health, Bucks Mental Health, Community Services Appeals.

As one of the ward leads commented last year, "It means a lot to them to know that someone has thought of them through their donation, and to staff as it shows that people in the community value what they do."
