Our new project, 'What make's Didcot Brilliant?', funded by the National Lottery through Oxford Health Charity, is already creating a positive impact on the town.

Weekly workshops have started at Didcot Community Hospital, where the project's Creative Connector and Artist in Residence,  Dionne Freeman has been working with staff and patients responding to the question, What makes Didcot brilliant? This has led to discussions on how the landscape has changed and what is special and important about Didcot to them.

Dionne has also provided a creative staff training session for The Adult Mental Health team in Didcot with the aim of involving their service users in the project in the most effective and meaningful way, which has led to the creation of outreach packs entitled the View from your Window.

The project has also made many local connections already and has planned outreach workshops with Style Acre, Targeted Support service, Silver Pride, the WI, Didcot Garden party and Cornerstone Arts Centre. The workshops will focus on creating boards for the train station underpass, looking out and looking in on different perspectives of Didcot, connecting views to and from the hospital.

We now want to encourage other's to take part in the project activity either by attending a workshop or creating your own view from your Window.
